Excite a Child About Bird Watching
Ever had one of those days when you just needed something constructive for the grandkids or your children to do that didn’t cost a fortune? More important, something you could do together and continue sharing that experience beyond one afternoon. Introduce the
children in your life to bird watching. It is a relaxing activity and teaches the youngster a love for animals and nurtures a sense of responsibility that is required for the stewardship of the greater Earth.
One suggestion is to make your own bird feeder, not from bird feeder plans, but from things you would ordinarily discard after using. You’ll need no saws, nails, screws, nor hinges. You will need some heavy duty kitchen shears, some wire, and a well washed out old bleach bottle or something similar.
Watch the video below for complete instructions, but if you are a woodworker at heart and want to really introduce the children in your life to both woodworking and bird watching, buy some quality bird feeder plans from either one of the experts we highly recommend to our readers. They have literally thousands of woodworking projects from which to choose which cost less than a penny apiece. A bargain by any account these days.
